Director of Sales & Investor Relations
Role Overview
We have partnered with a fast-growing alternative investment manager headquartered in Dubai to hire a Senior Investor Relations Director. This high-priority role is integral to the firm’s continued growth and success, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors across both public and private markets.
The successful candidate will serve as the face of the business, managing investor communications, representing the firm at conferences and events, and spearheading key investor relations initiatives. This includes handling complex projects, such as secondaries and bond-related investor queries, and working closely with the CEO and senior leadership to execute the firm’s broader investor relations strategy.
This position offers the unique opportunity to establish and lead the Investor Relations function, including building out a team to expand coverage of institutional investors and private wealth clients over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Investor Relations Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional investors, addressing all queries related to the firm’s investments and performance.
- Representation: Represent the firm at conferences, industry events, and meetings, delivering compelling presentations to reinforce the firm’s positioning in the market.
- Project Management: Lead investor engagement for key projects, such as bond issuances and secondaries, ensuring clear and professional communication on company activities.
- Team Development: Build and lead the Investor Relations team, with a plan to expand coverage to include private wealth clients and support from junior hires.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to design and execute the firm’s investor relations strategy.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and nurture relationships with existing institutional investors while proactively engaging potential new investors.
- Investor Updates: Deliver regular updates to investors on a six-month cycle, providing clear insights into the firm’s activities, strategies, and performance.
- Market Expertise: Ensure a thorough understanding of both public and private markets, including secondaries, to respond effectively to investor questions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record in Investor Relations, with substantial experience engaging institutional investors. A background in private markets and exposure to both public and private asset classes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with secondaries and experience handling bond-related investor queries.
- Communication Skills: Polished and professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to deliver impactful presentations.
- Geographic Expertise: Strong preference for candidates with experience in European or London-based institutional investor landscapes.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team, with an eventual focus on expanding coverage to include private wealth clients.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel regularly between Dubai, London, and other European markets as required.
