Natural Gas Trader
Role Overview:
We are working with a leading global bank looking to hire a Natural Gas Trader with a focus on US gas markets to join their team based in London. The firm is known for its significant market presence and strong corporate franchise across the US and Europe. The successful candidate will enhance the desk`s expertise by bringing in-depth knowledge and experience.
The Natural Gas Trader will be responsible for fully trading and executing for the firm`s clients, covering both market making and prop/personal risk pnl generation. This role involves managing significant risk positions, market making, and trading around positions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of US gas markets and strong analytical skills to develop and execute effective trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fully trade and execute for clients, including hedging and proprietary trading.
- Manage and take significant risk positions.
- Quote clients, market make, and trade around positions.
- Develop and execute trading strategies based on market fundamentals.
- Understand and trade physical gas as well as derivatives like HH options.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in natural gas trading.
- Deep understanding of US gas markets, including different hubs and physical locations
- Ability to analyze market fundamentals effectively
- Experience in proprietary/flow-based trading and risk management
- Capability to handle complex derivatives and structured products
- Strong networking skills and established industry connections
