Role Overview
We have partnered with a Dubai based hedge fund looking to hire an Execution Trader. The successful candidate will work closely with a senior Portfolio Manager, executing trades efficiently across global markets, with a primary focus on US equities. While the role is equity-centric, familiarity with options, FX, and credit products would be beneficial.
Unlike traditional siloed hedge fund structures, this is a highly collaborative environment, offering exposure to the broader investment process of multiple PMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Execution: Execute trades efficiently, using your knowledge of best execution strategies (VWAP, TWAP, liquidity-driven execution, etc.) to optimize price and minimize slippage.
- Primary focus will be cash equities markets, with ad-hoc coverage of equity options, FX, and credit.
- Market Analysis & Pre-Market Preparation: Provide morning market updates covering major news, macro events, earnings releases, and sector-specific developments to inform trading decisions.
- Post-Market Review: Summarize daily trading activity, including key market movements, positioning insights, and execution performance.
- Strategic Input: Offer intraday trading views on execution timing (e.g., whether to execute immediately, scale in over time, or adjust for market conditions).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in execution trading, ideally with a strong understanding of US equity markets and associated trading strategies, and execution methods. Exposure to other asset classes such as options, FX, or credit is advantageous.
- Analytical Ability: Comfortable analyzing market trends and liquidity conditions to optimize trade execution.
- Technology & Tools: While programming is not a core requirement, a quantitative mindset and familiarity with Transaction Cost Analysis and data-driven decision-making would be valuable.
- Cultural Fit: Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly growing investment firm.
