Insurance Solutions - Senior Director / US Lead
Role Overview
We have partnered with a Tier-1 US Bank (Sell-Side) looking to hire a senior ALM Insurance Solutions specialist (ED/Senior VP) level to join a high-performing team.
This newly created role will be based in New York and play a pivotal part in scaling the firm’s Insurance Solutions business across North America. Sitting on the trading floor, this is a front-office, client-facing role with direct accountability for driving commercial outcomes across complex insurance-related trades, as well as trade idea generation/structuring.
The successful candidate will serve as the US counterpart to the Global Head of ALM Solutions and will be responsible for delivering technical credibility, product innovation, and commercial insight across a wide range of insurance clients. This is a high-impact hire designed to support the firm’s global insurance strategy and to bring leadership presence to the firm’s US-based insurance solutions coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with sales and structuring teams to originate and execute trades with US insurance clients, with a focus on bespoke ALM, regulatory capital, and accounting-sensitive transactions
- Act as a client-facing lead for technical discussions with CIOs, CROs, portfolio managers, actuarial, and treasury teams across US insurers
- Serve as the US lead for the ALM Solutions business, while collaborating closely with global stakeholders to ensure alignment across regions
- Develop and refine cross-asset ALM models, including portfolio optimizers, accounting and regulatory impact models, and capital-efficient allocation engines
- Engage in multi-asset structuring involving rates, credit, equity-linked, FX, and securitised products in coordination with relevant structuring teams
- Drive commercial strategy and idea generation, contributing to sales pitches, client proposals, and cross-regional knowledge sharing
- Work day-to-day with US structuring leadership while reporting functionally to the Global Head of ALM Solutions
Requirements & Qualifications
- 8–15+ years of experience in rates structuring, ALM solutions, or multi-asset structuring roles, with a demonstrable focus on US insurance markets
- Strong product knowledge in rates derivatives, SPV repacks, cross-asset insurance trades, or ALM modeling
- Solid understanding of insurance balance sheets and ALM principles, including asset-liability matching, surplus optimization, and regulatory capital treatment
- Familiarity with US Stat, US GAAP, and NAIC regulations preferred; training can be provided for the right commercial profile
- Proven ability to hold senior client dialogue and contribute to revenue-generating opportunities across complex insurance structuring
- Commercial judgment, structuring intuition, and the ability to drive technical credibility in competitive client situations
- Strong cultural fit for a fast-paced trading floor environment; must be resilient, articulate, and confident in navigating senior stakeholders and internal politics
