Quant Analyst
Role: Quantitative Analyst – Investment & Analytics Technology
Company Overview
This global investment management firm is widely recognized for its research-driven, long-term approach to portfolio construction and risk management. With a commitment to internal innovation, the firm leverages sophisticated quantitative tools and robust data processes to support informed investment decision-making. The quant and analytics team plays a central role in enabling scalable, accurate, and actionable insights across the investment lifecycle.
Role Overview
The Quantitative Analyst will join a core analytics technology function within the firm, working at the intersection of data engineering, quantitative logic, and investment analysis. This team builds foundational infrastructure — from data pipelines to portfolio analysis tools — that empowers a wide range of internal stakeholders, including investment teams, operations, and portfolio risk groups.
This is a technically hands-on role that requires strong Python development skills, business acumen, and a collaborative mindset. The team is small and high-performing, and the successful candidate will take on a key role as the most experienced quant within the group, following the internal move of a senior team member. The work is varied and impactful, ranging from building production-grade tooling to engaging with other teams to understand how investment metrics and data can be better surfaced.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production-level Python tools and pipelines used to support investment analytics, reporting, and forecasting.
- Lead and contribute to major analytics initiatives — for example, enhancing portfolio performance attribution and expanding cashflow forecasting capabilities across asset types.
- Engage with a wide range of internal teams — from portfolio managers and research groups to operations — to understand requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Follow best practices in software development, including unit testing, version control, and continuous integration/deployment workflows.
- Contribute to internal reporting capabilities, supporting tools such as PowerBI and interacting with internal data platforms.
- Collaborate with other quantitative and technical teams, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across projects and tools.
- Support team members with less experience, offering guidance and contributing to a collaborative, solution-oriented environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in a technical, data-heavy role in financial services or a closely related industry.
- Strong Python development skills, including experience writing production code, unit tests, and contributing to codebases with CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Exposure to fixed income or derivatives products with solid understanding of financial instruments and their mechanics.
- Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to work effectively across different functions.
- Experience with business intelligence or visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) and general comfort working in data-rich environments.
- Familiarity with workflow management tools like Airflow is helpful, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in small teams with direct business impact.
- Master’s degree or equivalent academic experience in a quantitative field is advantageous.
