Quantitative Strategist
Role Overview
We have partnered with a leading alternative asset manager looking to hire a versatile Quantitative Analyst.
This role focuses on overseeing a broad range of activities across the front office, offering flexibility to engage in diverse, high-complexity projects across different business lines and asset classes. These include private credit, M&A, portfolio construction/optimisation, and rates trading.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong quantitative foundation, coupled with a proven ability to solve complex problems and communicate sophisticated concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
While technical experience is important, the hiring manager has emphasised that adaptability, attitude, and communication skills are just as important.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit: Model and structure various financial products, particularly in structured credit (CLOs, SPVs, ABS, loans) and private assets.
- M&A: Contribute to large-scale M&A deals, ensuring precision and thoroughness in analysis and execution.
- Cross-Functional Engagement: Switch seamlessly between diverse topics across business lines, including asset liability management projects, M&A due diligence, and credit structuring initiatives.
- Framework Development: Tackle unstructured problems by conceptualizing and quantifying challenges where no predefined frameworks exist.
- Synthesis & Presentation: Translate complex quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights for senior management and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Engage with multiple projects concurrently, often under tight deadlines and high-pressure environments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience with credit products, ideally CLOs, SPVs, ABS, and private assets, is desirable
- Key Competencies:
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to work on varied and complex projects.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and comfort working in environments with high uncertainty.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly.
- Personal Attributes:
- High resilience and ability to perform under pressure, especially in fast-paced, demanding settings.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in high-value transactions (e.g., $1bn M&A deals).
- Demonstrated agility and adaptability, able to pivot quickly between different mandates
