Senior Credit Analyst
Role Overview
We have partnered with a leading global insurer looking to hire an experienced IG & Crossover-focused Credit Analyst (5-10+ years) to join a close-knit, highly collaborative investment team, where the analysts sit directly alongside portfolio managers.
The credit team manages €2bn+ in AUM, primarily through a Buy & Maintain approach, alongside a more active & higher turnover Total Return Strategy. The focus is primarily European credit (EUR-denominated), alongside UK credit (GBP-denominated).
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and work closely with portfolio managers, rather than sit within a siloed research function. The role offers a supportive, collaborative culture, stable long-term capital and the opportunity to see your research influence investment decisions directly.
Key Responsibilities
-
Take ownership of fundamental credit research on industrials issuers across investment-grade and crossover, assessing credit quality and downside risks.
-
Develop actionable investment recommendations and contribute trade ideas directly to portfolio managers across Buy & Maintain and Total Return Strategies.
-
Conduct relative value analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities across covered issuers.
-
Monitor issuer and sector developments, maintaining up-to-date credit views and assessing the implications for portfolios.
-
Work closely with portfolio managers and fellow analysts, communicating research conclusions clearly and contributing to investment discussions.
Requirements & Qualifications
-
5-10+ years’ credit research experience, with strong industrials expertise across investment-grade and crossover issuers.
-
Ideally currently working in buy-side credit research, with ideas feeding directly into Long-only IG or Buy & Maintain strategies.
-
Strong candidates from rating agencies, independent research providers and the sell side will also be considered.
-
Strong fundamental analysis and financial modelling skills, with the ability to form clear investment convictions and communicate recommendations effectively.
-
Financials and/or REITs coverage would be useful but is not essential. A CFA qualification is an advantage.
-
A collaborative approach and an interest in becoming a long-term contributor to the team.
