Role Overview
This is a senior credit analyst position with a clear path to broader responsibility over time. The mandate combines fundamental corporate credit research across investment grade and high yield with a genuine, well-trodden route toward portfolio management and client-facing seniority.
The role sits within a fixed income business managing approximately USD 60 billion, working alongside the Head of Corporate Credit as a future deputy on the team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep fundamental research on companies across a handful of industries, assessing whether their bonds and loans are attractive and safe enough to hold.
- Review names surfaced by the team`s systematic screen and form an independent, well-supported view on each.
- Present research and recommendations to the portfolio management team, who make final investment decisions collectively.
- Cover credit across the ratings spectrum, from investment grade through performing high yield, including leveraged loans.
- Progressively take on client-facing responsibility, joining and eventually leading meetings with institutional clients and prospects.
- Build toward a future portfolio manager role, working closely with and eventually deputising for the Head of Corporate Credit.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience spanning both investment grade and high yield credit; candidates working across the crossover or multi-sector space are ideal.
- Approximately 10 or more years as a credit analyst, at Senior Analyst, Director, or Managing Director level.A background in corporate credit, analysing individual companies rather than mortgages, structured securities, or government bonds alone.
- Buy-side experience, ideally at an asset manager or insurance-owned investment platform.
- Exposure to multiple industries over the course of their career.
- Leveraged loan experience, a CFA charter and/or MBA, and prior or emerging client-facing experience are all strong pluses.
- Collegial, patient, and quality-first, with the polish and ambition to eventually represent the firm in front of institutional clients.
